Year 12 2024 Results

13 December 2024

I am delighted to update our community with the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) results* of our 2024 Seniors released today.

The 2024 Senior cohort should be commended for their academic achievements, and the College is proud of the 99.7% of students who attained their QCE.

This cohort has continued to build on our strong academic performance, achieving the highest results since ATAR calculations began in 2020.
The 2024 cohort finished with a median score of 85.13 and a mean of 83.69.

We would like to acknowledge the significant achievements of the 7 students who received an ATAR of 99 or higher and the 14 students who received an ATAR of 98 or higher. We send our special congratulations to College Dux, Jamie Waddington, who received a score of 99.75.

We would like to congratulate the 17 students recognised by QCAA with a certificate of Academic Commendation and the 5 students awarded a Subject Achievement Commendation.

Below is a breakdown of ATARs achieved as a percentage of the cohort within the specified range:

  • 20% of boys achieved an ATAR above 95
  • 32% of boys achieved an ATAR above 90
  • 66% of boys achieved an ATAR above 80
  • 86% of boys achieved an ATAR above 70

In addition to these strong ATAR results, 108 students were awarded one or more Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications as part of their QCE. Below is a breakdown of those VET qualifications:

  • 11 boys engaged in a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT)
  • 1 boy achieving Certificate 1
  • 78 boys achieving Certificate 2
  • 35 boys achieving Certificate 3
  • 40 boys completing a Diploma

The College congratulates our graduates who have chosen a vocational pathway, including apprenticeships, traineeships, and/or employment in 2025.

The 2024 College Dux, Subject Duces, and ATAR High Achievers will be acknowledged at the College Assembly on Tuesday 11 February 2025. We wish each of the 2024 Seniors the very best for their immediate futures. Thank you to the Year 12 parents and caregivers for your dedication to your son’s education. Your guidance and support of these young men is critical to their success.

Thank you also for your support in my first year as Principal of this great school.

Wishing you and your family the blessings and joy of Christmas and the festive season.

Kind regards,
Scott Thomson (Principal)
