Recreation Coordinator
The College is seeking to employ a Recreation Coordinator to plan, organise and conduct activities for boarding students that meet their needs and the expectations of their parents, for each weekend during the school term.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be demonstrate:
- imagination and creativity in organising activities and events,
- initiative and problem solving,
- discretion and sensitivity to individual boarders’ needs,
- communication and organisational skills, and
- understanding of the policies and compliance aspects of the College.
Primary Duties:
- Design and organise a balanced and workable recreation/events program to cater for a diverse group of adolescent and teenager boys with varied interest areas and financial situations.
- Roster appropriate staffing and transport to see activities carried out safely and in a format that maximises student participation.
- Ensure sound systems of collaborative working, communication and planning are in place for all stakeholders – students and their families, Dean of Boarding, Director of Boarding, Heads of Boarding House, Boarding Supervisors, Health Centre staff, Transport and Catering.
- Be vigilant whilst conducting activities, ensuring that a high level of duty of care prevails at all times.
- Promote recreation offerings, internally and externally, to drive participation
- Manage significant community events.
- Attend special events, trips and tours as requested by the college
- Establish safe behavioural practices while students undertake recreation activities.
- Manage a budget, including expenditure and income
- Arrange payment for activities, if required.
