Mr Daryl Hanly - Principal

Mr Daryl Hanly was appointed as the first Lay Principal at St Joseph's Nudgee College in January 2002. He completed his secondary education at St Brendan's College, Yeppoon, and his tertiary studies at the University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology and the Australian Catholic University.

Mr Hanly has had a distinguished career as an educational leader, having been:

  • Deputy Principal of Townsville State High School (1974 - 1978)
  • Founding Principal Kirwan State High School (1979 - 1983)
  • Principal Kelvin Grove State High School (1984 - 1994)
  • Director of the Centre for Leadership Excellence (1995 - 1999)
  • Director Education Queensland International (2000 - 2001)

During this time, Mr Hanly was President of the Queensland Secondary Principals' Association on two occasions and an Executive Member of the Australian Secondary Principals' Association.

In addition, he currently serves as State President of the Catholic Secondary Principals Association Queensland (CaSPAQ) and is a director of its national association.

Married with two sons, Mr Hanly's vision for Nudgee is to provide a balanced education for the development of the whole person - a person who will become for the world a Sign of Faith - "Signum Fidei".
